Grandma Silky’s Ambrosia Salad

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 ounces sour cream
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup canned mandarin oranges
  • 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple
  • 1 cup green grapes, halved
  • 1 cup freshly grated coconut
  • 1 cup toasted, chopped pecans
  • ½ cup drained maraschino cherries


Place cream and sugar into the bowl, and mix with electric beater until stiff peaks form. Fold in sour cream to combine. Add the marshmallows, oranges, pineapple, grapes, coconut, pecans and cherries and stir to combine. Transfer to a serving bowl, cover and place in the refrigerator. Chill for 2 hours before serving.
